Breathing

Breath is one of the most immediate tools we have for calming the mind, regulating the nervous system, and returning the body from sympathetic activation—fight, flight, or overwork—toward parasympathetic restoration.

Throughout this book, we have explored breathing as a bridge between ancient yogic practice and modern physiology: the breath influences the vagus nerve, the parasympathetic nervous system, sleep, digestion, attention, emotional regulation, and the felt experience of inner calm.
