Eat Right For Your Dosha
Maintaining a vegan diet is an important consideration for many schools of yoga, given meat’s tamasic and rajasic nature. While I eat few meat products, I have not yet become vegan, but believe it is an ideal diet for those able to sustain such a diet while ensuring sufficient personal protein if your body can tolerate beans and other vegan proteins, given your gut bacteria mix.
Perhaps try dropping two foods that the above charts suggest your dosha should avoid (ideally, including foods that you would otherwise consume). Also, try to notice if eating any of the suggested foods gives you more energy, better sleep, or other positive outcomes.
Please start at the dosha quiz, then confirm your quiz results. After that review the below to see what foods might be a good fit for you.
Removing foods that are a bad fit for your dosha may reduce your suffering. A recent Stanford University and Monash University diet called FODMAP concurs that removal of many of these foods can reduce suffering for Irritable Bowl Syndrome.
As always, use this only as a guide for any discussions with your doctor.
