The Essence of All Buddahs, Chan

General Notes

Great doubt brings great enlightenment

Mind must be focused in chan meditation.

Never rush, never dally. Don’t be nervous but don’t be lax.

Eat, but do not become attached to your eating.

If you can enter Samadhi (stay quiet) for an instant you can eradicate infinite kalpas of offensiveness that binds us to birth and death.

Sit once the circulating of blood and qi have come alive.

Lotus best for Samadhi but thoughts must stop. Curl the tip of your tongue upwards so it touches the front of your mouth, thus connecting the ren and du energy channels. You should feel warm.

Lots about different states and levels of meditation.

When the time comes, after a period of disciplined practice, your wisdom will naturally manifest and your Prana light will illuminate the universe. How, without entering the bitter cold of winter could the plum blossoms smell so sweet?

You will not only experience it while sitting, but also after you get it.

Be patient. Investigate your mind to prevent it from doing bad things.

Every breath affects time and space. Good and bad vibrations.

When helping others don’t become attached to the thought that you are a helper.
